Ok, this is my favorite section. I love getting new songs and seeing everyone perform them. We're always fortunate enough to get gems like Never from Season 2 and No Way from the Unit. I love this. At the end of episode 5, they released brief teasers of each of the songs. From those teasers the one, I was most looking forward to was Monday to Sunday. That song is totally up my alley, and I couldn't wait to hear the full song and the choreography for it.
When they showed clips of each of the songs Monday to Sunday still was my favorite but I also gained interest in U Got It and Move. I loved Cho Seung Youn with his stir fried spicy pork and his friendship with steamed rice Yo Han, but they ended up not in the same team. When they showed trainees entering practice rooms it was clear that Practice Room E was Pretty Girl with all the cute members.
Super Special Girl by Kwon Deun Guk and Young Chance (Future Funk)
I was so happy for Sung Yeon giving the opportunity to do main vocal, and he really showed that he deserved it. Super Special Girl gained Kim Si Hun, Keum Dong Hyun, and Song Yu Vin. I found it hilarious how much Song Yu Vin wanted to be in this song even though Su Hwan was against it. They are always on the same team and are always fighting for main vocal. Their love and hate relationship is really fun to watch.
Sun Ho really is a great leader, and I wish this was showcased more on the show. I am honestly so sad that he has been getting increasingly less screen time. What little bits we do see from him, he clearly shows a dedication for the group and making great decisions, proving himself as a great leader. I loved seeing that they have great chemistry as a group.
I was really pleased with their performance. Every member was able to shine and each one had amazing stage presence. They were also very in sync with each other, showing just how great they work together.
Monday to Sunday by Primeboi (R&B and Dance House)
It was honestly so sad to see that all of these guys had low ranks. I honestly almost cried when Wei Zi Yue said he wanted to do center because it might be his last lesson and was trying not to cry when performing in front of the trainers. I was a kind of surprised that this team literally only had 1 remaining member, Tony, after elimination. Monday to Sunday gained Kim Min Kyu, Lee Se Jin, Nam Do Hyun, Joo Chang Uk, and Lee Hyeop. I found it really funny that Nam Do Hyun really wanted to be in this group and was very vocal about it when Super Special Girl were choosing members.
I felt really sad for the group when they were all really down about being moved and getting lectured by the trainers. So, it was really heartwarming to see them look at the boards with supportive messages for them. I was surprised to see later that X Consolation trainee, Kim Dong Yun, joined this group. It was really heartwarming to see all the members accepting him and speaking highly of him. I was really shocked to see that Pretty Girl and U Got It did not accept him. For Pretty Girl, Dong Yun was already in that team, so there would have been less work for him and the team because he already knows the song and the choreography. I also thought U Got It would accept him because 2 of his company members are in that team. They did vouch for him, but in the end the team as a whole voted against it.
I really think that these guys killed it with their performance. For me, Nam Do Hyun and Lee Hyeop really stood out. Nam Do Hyun had a lot of charisma and really killed all of his rapping parts. Lee Hyeop really did amazing as main vocal and his ending high notes were incredible.
U Got It by Noheul and Kiggen (Future EDM Dance)
Seung Woo really is a great leader and it was really nice see him be encouraging towards the other trainees. The members who left this team were Lee Hyeop, Nam Do Hyun, and Song Yu Vin. For Lee Hyeop and Song Yu Vin, I think it was really advantageous for them and U Got It, because there were so many vocalists in that time. Since they are both really talented vocalists, they could really make a contribution in both Monday to Sunday and Super Special Girl. With Nam Do Hyun, I really think he should have stayed in U Got It. They really needed a rapper, and he was he only one.
Seung Woo really stood out. His vocals are amazing and that part he sings right before the chorus is amazing. I was also really impressed with Kim Yo Han. I agree with the trainers that his dancing is really good and definitely has improved from the beginning. I was super psyched to see him rapping again too, and if he gets into the final lineup it would be really great if he would be a rapper.
Pretty Girl by KZ, Nthonius, and The Private (Funky Retro Dance)
I know Min Hee did not think that he could pull off a cute concept or that his appearance did not fit in with the rest of the members, but I totally think he can fit in and pull of this kind of concept. For the center position, I totally agree that Dong Pyo should be center and Jung Hwan and Min Hee should be the main vocalists. The members that got moved in this group were Lee Se Jin, Joo Chang Uk, Keum Dong Hyun, and Kim Min Kyu. I was happy for Min Hee that he got to stay because I think he would do a good job as main vocalist and I truly believe that he can do well. However, I felt bad for Min Kyu because he really suited this song, got lots of compliments from the trainers for this song and was happy and comfortable with it.
After the member change, they were choosing a new center. I was shocked that basically everyone wanted to be the center. I think from the video that each trainee did Hyung Jun did the best. I do think that Son Dong Pyo deserved to be center though, because overall he is very capable and did good as a center during X1-MA and was a good center before the member change. I was also super proud of Min Hee during the recording. He listened well to the feedback from KZ and really did a great job as main vocalist. When Won Jin's illness was talked about, it was honestly heartbreaking because this injury could affect his career as an idol.
It was really fun seeing Pretty Girl members messing around. I loved seeing them Jin Woo and Hyung Jun mess around with the camera, the members playing that clapping game and having Koo Jun Mo be a PD, and bust into Move's practice and dance Move (which they did surprisingly well at).
I also think that this group really did a great job with their song. Min Hee killed it as the main vocal. I never realized just how nice his voice is until this performance. I really think each of them really shined on stage. Song Hyung Jun surprisingly popped out a lot. He always seemed so full of energy and provided us with fun facial expressions and expressive dance moves.
Move by ZICO and Poptime (Mainstream Pop)
I was really worried when they were preparing because basically everybody wanted to be center. YASSSS MY BOI SEUNG YOUN!!! I'm so excited that he got leader and center!! I'm also so psyched he got more screen time. It was really nice to see him as his playful self messing around with his teammates. After eliminations, Byung Chan's plea to stay in Move was hilarious and it was funny that he was staying with Pretty Girl members. Kim Si Hun ended up getting moved, which I honestly think was good for him. Even though he wanted to be in Move, I think he can really fit the concept of Monday to Sunday and Super Special Girl really well.
It was really cool seeing them record with Zico. It was really nice seeing that he knew all the trainees names. He was also really encouraging when they performed the dance for him and during the recording studio. He also gave them lots of pointers throughout the entire preparation for the song, which was really nice too.
I really liked the performance. I really think all the guys really fit the song and did a really good job. I really enjoyed how at the end of the song there were little gags added in showing a more playful side to a very intense stage. There were definitely other playful things mixed in throughout the song, which definitely fits Zico's style of music.
In the end, U Got It got the most amount of votes with Kim Yo Han with the most amount of votes for this group. Move got second with my boi Seung Youn getting the most amount of votes for his team and overall, which changed after Yo Han got his benefit. 3rd place was Pretty Girl with Song Hyung Jun getting the most votes. Then it was Monday to Sunday with Nam Do Hyun followed by Super Special Girl with Keum Dong Hyun. Honestly, I'm so proud of Seung Youn for getting the most amount of votes because this bitch deserved it. My personal favorite performance was probably Move. It was both really cool and playful and just overall really fun to watch. I would put Monday to Sunday second because I really like the song and do think the trainees did a good job. So... Um... Yeah...
