LOOΠΔ

For those of you who may not know, LOOΠΔ is a girl group made by Blockberry Entertainment that was released in October 2016. Unlike many other kpop groups around, LOOΠΔ releases one new member every month, which I find incredibly interesting. In October, they released HeeJin, November, HyunJin, December, HaSeul, and recently, January, YeoJin. I was first introduced to this group by a friend of mine in December, in which she reeled me in to the fandom by showing me HyunJin's 'Around You'. She then showed me HaSeul's 'Let Me In', and then LOOΠΔ's 'The Carol'. Ever since then, I've been checking out their music videos, dance practice videos, vlogs, etc., and basically became a fan. I love that the company has put so much effort into this group, and releases quality content every month. So far LOOΠΔ has come out with 7 track songs in 4 months, which is amazing

1. ViViD HeeJin

Probably my favorite LOOΠΔ song to date. I love HeeJin's vocal range in this song, especially the lower notes. The song is also fun and nice to listen to and super catchy. The instrumental at the beginning is great! One thing I found really interesting about the video was that HeeJin went to France to film this. The effort that Blockberry Entertainment puts into this group really surprises me and makes me appreciate this group even more. There's also an acoustic version of this song, where HeeJin plays the guitar herself, and which is also really good.

There's also another acoustic version at this link, I just prefer this one since you can see her sing and play it herself. There's also a dance practice video which I put here. (NOTE: I wasn't able to put the official mv below for some reason, sorry)

2. Around You HyunJin

Unlike, ViViD, Around You is a ballad, and introduces HyunJin as a member of LOOΠΔ. The only problem I have with this video is that the first part of the song is played at a softer volume, as if HyunJin was listening to the video on a stereo, but at around 1:20 it goes to normal volume. It may just be me but the beginning piano riff kind of reminded me of Imagine by John Lennon. Anyway, it's a great song and I found the video quite interesting. It was great display of HyunJin's talents. Like ViViD there's an acoustic version in which HyunJin plays the piano for, which I put below the music video. There is also an original film version that I also put below. What I liked about this version is that it went more in depth with the story and you can hear the softer part in the official mv, clearer near the middle of this video.

3. I'll Be There HeeJin and HyunJin

This is the first combined music video for LOOΠΔ, and I really enjoyed it. It was really catchy and fun. The beginning riff part is super catchy and I love that used it later in the video. I also appreciated the ability the subtle solo riff (when one of the vocals have like this sustaining riff) given to Heejin in her part at 2:29. Like Around You, this video was filmed in Japan, which is pretty cool. This song also came out with a dance practice which I put below. The dance is really cute and I enjoyed it.

4. Let Me In HaSeul

This is my friend's favorite song of LOOΠΔ's and also her bias member, and I can understand why. It starts off as a sort of ballad, and I honestly didn't think that I'd like, but the chorus really hooked me in. The violins in the background also really adds to the video and I adore them. Overall it's a good song and it really grew on me. Unrelated note, it was filmed in Iceland. (NOTE: I also wasn't able to put the mv for this one too 😞)

5. The Carol LOOΠΔ

I really love when kpop groups come out with a Christmas (or holiday, whatever you want to consider it) song, I don't really know why, but I do, and this is no exception. I actually had this song stuck in my head today. I also enjoyed the idea of having those scenes where it starts with HeeJin and then HyunJin comes in, and finally HaSeul joins, which reflects LOOΠΔ's member adding thing. And those three scenes with the girls' animal representations, I enjoyed the symbolism there. (By the way HeeJin is the rabbit, HyunJin is the cat, and Haseul is the bird, which is also represented in their individual videos) But can I add that HyunJin is standing next to a bar and tequila sign, like what, and it was filmed in England. Overall, I love the song and enjoyed it and the video a lot.

6. Kiss Later YeoJin

This video has stars their newest member YeoJin, and helps us see her talents. I found the video quite cute as well as the dance. (That picture of Usui Takumi from KWMS at 1:01 though). The princess and the frog concept was adorable, especially when YeoJin is like I can't kiss you yet and they have a run and chase kind of thing. (Oh and YeoJin's animal is the frog 😀) One complaint that I have though was that at certain parts of the song sounded like she was autotuned or something. But I loved that we were able to see her charms as the maknae (at least for now..., jk I have no clue who's coming next)

7. My Sunday HeeJin and HyunJin

WHOO!! Another HeeJin and HyunJin song!! I really love it when these two work together and I enjoy their duets. Even though this song is not as catchy as I'll Be There, I do like this song more and believe that it is a better song in technicalities. It can really show the growth of the girls and the production, and it is great to see that even though it's only been a couple of months, that both can improve from great to even better. I also really appreciate the guitar in the back and the singing riffs in the chorus. Overall, I really like this song.

8. My Melody HaSeul and YeoJin

This is the newest song that LOOΠΔ has come out with, and features their 2 newest members Haseul from December and YeoJin from January. I believe that this another version of My Sunday, since the guitar riff is the same, right? I also find the verses to be quite similar, it's not just me right? If I had to choose one over the other it would be My Sunday because I like that chorus better and I love how HyunJin and HeeJin's voices match and just that I like their voices better. (NOTE: I couldn't get this one either TT.TT, it's probably because it's new)

As shown, through this really long post, I really like LOOΠΔ and am excited about their approach to displaying their members. I love that each member gets their own video, so we can see how talented each member is. I also adore the amount of effort that Blockberry Entertainment puts into this group by having the girls film in a variety of different locations, releasing so many videos and quality content, and coming up with so many concepts. It's really refreshing to see a music label to put so much into a group in kpop. Anyway, I can't wait for the next member to come out in February and to see LOOΠΔ perform as a whole group sometime in the future. Soo.. umm... yeah...

Produce X 101- Final Ranking

So, I was actually able to watch the entire finale. I'm still going to hold off on writing anything about the actual show portion of this episode until english subtitles are released. That being said the group name is X1. It's sweet and simple and basically sums up the premise of this season. Now onto the rankings. My current top 11 are: 1. Cho Seung Youn 2. Lee Han Gyul 3. Han Seung Woo 4. Keum Dong Hyun 5. Hwang Yun Seong 6. Kim Yo Han 7. Song Yu Vin 8. Song Hyung Jun 9. Son Dong Pyo 10. Nam Do Hyun 11. Lee Jin Hyuk I know I already changed my list from literally yesterday. I honestly happy with whatever the final ranking is as long as Cho Seung Youn and Han Seung Woo get in. If Lee Han Gyul get in, that's an extra bonus. I truly wish that all of the guys could debut in X1, which obviously is not going to happen. Anyway, onto the official rankings. 1. Kim Yo Han When they told us 1st place was down to Kim Woo Seok or Kim Yo Han, I was not surprised. I th...

Produce X 101- Position Evaluation

I love position evaluation. I think it gives the rappers a chance to really shine when they usually have to showcase singing or dancing. It also gives us epic performances such as Shape of You and "Michoji" from Season 2. Either way it allows people to really showcase their talents. The introduction of the X position definitely added interest. I think it is definitely very important for the trainees to be able to both sing and dance at the same time or rap and dance at the same time, since that is what they are going to be doing as an idol. Vocal Position Twit by Hwasa I love how this song was not like the typical ballad type songs to showcase their singing. Their harmonies were amazing and I loved it. Lee Hyeop did really well and I think it was great that he was finally able to showcase his singing ability. Jeonghwa also really stood out with his strong voice and cool stage presence. The performance overall was very captivating and I was really impressed and liked...

Produce X 101- First Elimination

Agh, elimination. Definitely my least favorite episodes, because it is so sad to see trainees go home. I do really enjoy the little events they have in between that lighten the mood of the episode a bit, but overall it's really hard to see some the trainees you really like go home. Entrances I love the entrances and how they consist of inside jokes between the contestants and are just the trainees having a fun time. My favorite entrance would be C9's where Lee Jae Bin and Keum Dong Hyun are pretending to play baseball. Other entrances that I enjoyed were Astory Entertainment's Jeon Hyun Woo and Heo Jin Ho, Plan A (or is it Plan M now, I am so confused) Entertainment's Choi Byung Chan and Han Seung Woo, Brand New Music's Kim Si Hun, Yoon Jeong Hwan, Lee Eun Sang, and Hong Seong Jun, and JH1's Jun Euhara. Body Camp This is one of my favorite sections that this show does. It's really lighthearted and fun. When it came to checking if the trainees have a...
