Sailor Moon- Nephrite

I was so excited to continue watching Sailor Moon that this is literally posted in the same week. This show is just so addictive to me, and not gonna lie, the plot really picks up in this section, so I am running off of this high of being completely invested. Now on to the actual show.

The Villain- Nephrite (SPOILERS)

First off, I much prefer Jadeite's methods to gaining energy. I just think the whole getting people to buy cursed objects from really amazing deals and giveaways just genius. You are getting a big batch of people to get a good amount of energy from, because a sale/giveaway. Nephrite's method of singling a specific person just seems to just take up too much time and energy. From a story telling perspective, I can see the benefit, since you are guaranteed some sort of character arc from the targeted character. I don't know maybe they were just trying move away to anti-consumerism mindset of the previous villain so that they can sell merch.

Now for Nephrite, himself. He's ok. He's obsessed with astrology and I'm surprised he didn't ask Naru's sun sign before deciding if he liked her or not. He also should have fucking asked her age because holy shit am I uncomfortable with a grown ass man (I know he's an alien) dating a middle schooler. That being said I am sucker for a tragic romance and my eyes were glued to the screen for episodes 23 and 24. I also love the inner conflict homeboy and Naru are having knowing that they shouldn't like each other but do. I don't know, I just live for the drama and angst sometimes. That being said, other than the whole romance plot, he really doesn't have much to him. So, I'd give him like 6/10, even though I think his ideas are worse, his personality is about the same and the romance plot really bumps him up.

Favorite Episodes (SPOILERS)

Episode 15

The absolute chaos. Rei starts really crushing on Mamoru this episode and asks him out. The end up going on a date to a cafe and a park, while being tailed by Usagi which I find hilarious. Usagi straight up was ready to use the transformation pen and ends up using Umino as a wallet date so that she can tail them. They also had Sailor Mercury and Mars doing the traditional enemy speech which was fun. Usagi also freaks out about it. We also have another one of my fears in this episode: evil rodents. I love being genuinely terrified of the foe; it adds a little spice to the episode. Overall, it's very chaotic and fun.

Episode 18

This episode focused more on Usagi's little brother, Shingo, and his friend that makes dolls. I think that their friendship is really cute and not gonna lie, I seriously ship them. Her gifting the doll and it breaking it accidently is something that was really heartbreaking since you could tell just how much that doll meant to her. Also, similar to episode 11's monster, I found the dolls hella creepy. The way that they changed their facial expressions to those creepy ass smiles was fucking terrifying.

Episode 23

My eyes were glued to the screen. We start out the episode at the pool with Naru and Usagi. Naru confesses that she's in love with Nephrite and Usagi, knowing the Nephrite is the enemy, recognizes this and tries to warn Naru. However, Naru still loves Nephrite and steals a crystal from her mom's jewelry store for him thinking that it was the Silver Crystal that he is looking for. Usagi finds this out from Naru's mom and transforms to save her from Nephrite. Amidst the battle between the Sailor Scouts and Nephrite, Naru stands in front of Moon Tiara Action to protect him. This is just such an intense and powerful scene with Naru crying and everyone in shock. This followed by a Youma sent by Zoisite attacking them to get the Dark Crystal and Nephrite returning the favor and protecting Naru.

Episode 24

This is basically a continuation of the previous episode. Nephrite is battling between his feelings for Naru and his job to find the Silver Crystal. He ends up using Naru to find out the identity of Sailor Moon. However, in the middle of fighting the Sailor Scouts, he hears Naru crying for help. He runs to rescue her since Zoisite has sent Youmas to kidnap her and keep her hostage with the Dark Crystal as the ransom. He is able to rescue her while getting slightly injured and they run away to hide in a park and heal his scratch. They have this really nice moment together where they talk about a life they can have together now that he's lowkey not part of the Dark Kingdom. However, they get ambushed by the Youmas. They are constantly trying to save each other, but Nephrite ends up shielding Naru from a bomb before the Sailor Scouts show up and defeat the Youmas. The episode ends with Nephrite fucking dying in Naru's arms.

I definitely enjoyed this Nephrite's mini-arc more than Jadeite's. Jadeite's part was just so basic, and understandably so since it is the very beginning and is used to set up the setting, characters, and format. However, Nephrite's section really just brings so much more to the table in regards to plot and character. We learn so much more about both sides' goals during this arc and the little hints about Tuxedo and Sailor Moon added intrigue and more of an overarching storyline. Then you had Nephrite's character development. I definitely would have preferred if they stretched it out for a couple more episodes, but the fact that they gave a villain a redemption arc this early on is absolutely insane. And the final two episodes has so many amazing emotional beats. I am just floored and cannot wait to watch next section. So... Um... Yeah...

Produce X 101- Final Ranking

So, I was actually able to watch the entire finale. I'm still going to hold off on writing anything about the actual show portion of this episode until english subtitles are released. That being said the group name is X1. It's sweet and simple and basically sums up the premise of this season. Now onto the rankings. My current top 11 are: 1. Cho Seung Youn 2. Lee Han Gyul 3. Han Seung Woo 4. Keum Dong Hyun 5. Hwang Yun Seong 6. Kim Yo Han 7. Song Yu Vin 8. Song Hyung Jun 9. Son Dong Pyo 10. Nam Do Hyun 11. Lee Jin Hyuk I know I already changed my list from literally yesterday. I honestly happy with whatever the final ranking is as long as Cho Seung Youn and Han Seung Woo get in. If Lee Han Gyul get in, that's an extra bonus. I truly wish that all of the guys could debut in X1, which obviously is not going to happen. Anyway, onto the official rankings. 1. Kim Yo Han When they told us 1st place was down to Kim Woo Seok or Kim Yo Han, I was not surprised. I th...

Produce X 101- Position Evaluation

I love position evaluation. I think it gives the rappers a chance to really shine when they usually have to showcase singing or dancing. It also gives us epic performances such as Shape of You and "Michoji" from Season 2. Either way it allows people to really showcase their talents. The introduction of the X position definitely added interest. I think it is definitely very important for the trainees to be able to both sing and dance at the same time or rap and dance at the same time, since that is what they are going to be doing as an idol. Vocal Position Twit by Hwasa I love how this song was not like the typical ballad type songs to showcase their singing. Their harmonies were amazing and I loved it. Lee Hyeop did really well and I think it was great that he was finally able to showcase his singing ability. Jeonghwa also really stood out with his strong voice and cool stage presence. The performance overall was very captivating and I was really impressed and liked...

Produce X 101- First Elimination

Agh, elimination. Definitely my least favorite episodes, because it is so sad to see trainees go home. I do really enjoy the little events they have in between that lighten the mood of the episode a bit, but overall it's really hard to see some the trainees you really like go home. Entrances I love the entrances and how they consist of inside jokes between the contestants and are just the trainees having a fun time. My favorite entrance would be C9's where Lee Jae Bin and Keum Dong Hyun are pretending to play baseball. Other entrances that I enjoyed were Astory Entertainment's Jeon Hyun Woo and Heo Jin Ho, Plan A (or is it Plan M now, I am so confused) Entertainment's Choi Byung Chan and Han Seung Woo, Brand New Music's Kim Si Hun, Yoon Jeong Hwan, Lee Eun Sang, and Hong Seong Jun, and JH1's Jun Euhara. Body Camp This is one of my favorite sections that this show does. It's really lighthearted and fun. When it came to checking if the trainees have a...
