EXO- Ko Ko Bop

I'm really mixed about this song, because there are some parts I really like, and some I just can't stand. Mainly it's that horrible screeching sound in the background that you first hear at 0:39, plays again at 1:43, plays in the dance breaks, and plays in the final chorus. It's just so shrill and loud that it's the only thing I can focus on when it appears and it really hurts my ears. If they just took out that screeching sound, I would adore this song. It totally has a sort of reggae feeling, and it is just so chill and groovy. All the parts, except the dance breaks, really blend well, musically and gives that really calm, kind of high, feeling.

I love the video. It totally gives you the totally loopy (high), aesthetic, which was really fun. I love most of the sets, except for the street set? (where they show the dancing), and the bright colors used. I also adored the fun little pieces of the cgi, like the cloud over Xiumin's cup, and Kai on the cloud. And can I just say that Xiumin and Sehun shipping in the video, though 😉, the video director obviously ships some people 😏.

Overall, I'm pretty mixed about the song. If they just took out the dance breaks and replaced it with something more fitting, I would totally dig this song. I love how EXO tried tackling the reggae genre, it was so chill and relaxing, and I loved the parts that stuck with that style of music. I'm really sad Lay is not participating in this promotion period, though 😔. Please don't kill me for this, it's just my own opinion. So... um... yeah...


P.S. For some reason I could only attach the Chinese version. I'll try to get the Korean version as well as soon as I can.

Produce X 101- Final Ranking

So, I was actually able to watch the entire finale. I'm still going to hold off on writing anything about the actual show portion of this episode until english subtitles are released. That being said the group name is X1. It's sweet and simple and basically sums up the premise of this season. Now onto the rankings. My current top 11 are: 1. Cho Seung Youn 2. Lee Han Gyul 3. Produce X 101- Position Evaluation

I love position evaluation. I think it gives the rappers a chance to really shine when they usually have to showcase singing or dancing. It also gives us epic performances such as Shape of You and "Michoji" from Season 2. Either way it allows people to really showcase their talents. The introduction of the X position definitely added interest. I think it is definitely very important for the trainees to be able to both sing and dance at the same time or rap and dance at the same time, since that is what they are going to be doing as an idol. Vocal Position Twit by Hwasa I love how this song was not like the typical ballad type songs to showcase their singing. Their harmonies were amazing and I loved it. Lee Hyeop did really well and I think it was great that he was finally able to showcase his singing ability. Jeonghwa also really stood out with his strong voice and cool stage presence. Lucy- Panorama

So fucking psyched about this album! I listened to the all the teasers and all of them sounded amazing. Based off of the mini-album highlight medley, I was most looking forward to Straight Line with Flare being second. Honestly though, just from the teasers alone I knew that this mini-album was gonna be right up my alley.  Just a quick heads up I had half of this post written on August 13th, which was a lot closer to when the mini-album came out than now. Not gonna lie, I don't regret putting it off. I still am in love with this album, and Lucy is still releasing content regarding this mini-album on their Youtube channel. I know they released lyric videos for all of these songs, which include the Korean lyrics and the English translations. They also released a commentary on the album with English subs which is just so interesting. They showed the production process as well as the meanings behind each song and the album as a whole.
